A magazine just for packaging & processing machine builders

Literally days after PMMI acquired Summit Media Group (now PMMI Media Group), we knew we had to launch a magazine, Web site, and e-newsletter specifically for OEMs.

From the publishers of Packaging World and Automation World comes Packaging + Processing OEM, which publishes quarterly in 2015, with frequent updates each week at pp-oem.com. PMT editorial veterans Sean Riley and Jim Parsons are core contributors, along with PW’s VP/Editor Pat Reynolds, who serves as editorial advisor.

To guide us, we assembled an editorial advisory board drawn from leading OEMs (see p. 4). And though we’ll include a lot of PMMI research, this is not an association magazine. Our mission is to help all packaging and processing OEMs—members and non-members alike—build not just better machines, but better businesses. A special welcome to converting and plastics machinery OEMs, also part of this community. We’ll make sure the publication appeals to you as well.

If you’re on the engineering side, look for future topics such as bringing machine HMIs into the smartphone/tablet era, the latest on mechatronic machine design, getting the most out of your 3D modeling software, hygienic equipment design, and making sense of OEE models that your customers are using.  

For executive management and operations, we’ll discuss the transition from engineering-to-order to engineering-to-stock, materials management, workforce development, getting serious about exports, implementing ERP systems, whether to get into line integration, and naviagating terms & conditions. 

Oh, and you may have noticed my name bears a certain resemblance to that of Pat Reynolds. I’ll cop to the avuncular relationship to that gray-beard who has built Packaging World into the global media brand that it is today. My singular goal for this media brand is to earn our way into your briefcase, e-mail in-box and Web browser with every article.
