As part of Trump’s “Made in America” week, he met with representatives from Merck, Pfizer, and Corning to announce an initiative to bring pharmaceutical manufacturing jobs back to America. Corning, the New York-based glass manufacturer, is spearheading the initiative with an investment of $500 and the creation of 1,000 new U.S. jobs. It’s the first phase of a program aimed at $4 billion and 4,000 new high-tech jobs.

According to a UPI article, Merck and Pfizer are collaborating on Corning's plan to modernize pharmaceutical glass packaging with the introduction of Corning Valor™ Glass, a packaging solution that enhances the storage and delivery of drugs.
