The Kurt Top Load Gage System measures the downward axial forces that are exerted on a container during a sealing operation and during transit. The system is designed to measure these forces at the source in real time, and transmit the data wirelessly via Bluetooth or by a wired connection. Beverage line operators can now adjust sealing pressures while filling cans and bottles to ensure beverage containers withstands axial forces. Operators can also correct shipping and handling details to eliminate costly problems.
Kurt Top Load Gage is user configurable and allows setting parameters to specific pound thresholds in which to begin collecting data. The gage can record downward forces to cans or bottles between 500 pounds to 1,000 pounds, depending on model. With capabilities for data collection speeds of as high as 500 readings per second and a capacity of 20,000 samples, the Top Load Gage provides fillers with real-time measurable data.
Once recording is complete, data can be transferred easily from the Kurt Top-Load Gage to another computer wirelessly through Bluetooth or using a micro USB connector. The recorded data is in a 16-bit resolution CSV format and can be easily imported into the provided KurtSPC software or an Excel program for analysis and line operation tracking.
Kurt Top Load Gage is available in industry standard container options including 12-oz. can, 16-oz. can, 330 ml European standard can, 12-oz. slim can, aluminum threaded bottles, and glass bottles. Exterior shells can mimic any bottle or can beverage container size, provided the interior shell OD can fit within the container ID. Other specific sizes can be accommodated, too.
