Aromat's (New Providence, NJ) NAiS-brand AKA series of photoelectric sensors is available with PNP or NPN output. Diffuse reflective units can detect objects up to 70 cm away.

Area reflective units detect objects up to 1 m, retroreflective up to 5 m with polarization filters for shiny objects. Thru-beam models detect up to 10 m. AKA units detect small to large objects in high-production assembly lines and automated vertical warehouses.
