Ormec: 'Soft' motion control

Ormec (Rochester, NY) introduces ServoWire®SM, a new approach to “soft” motion control that is said to reduce the cost and complexity of open PC-based motion-control solutions.

Provides OEMs a cost-effective method for controlling from 1 to 8 servos directly from a standard PC using a standard IEEE-1394 network. New technology combines PC hardware and software standards, soft-motion technology, and IEEE-1394 (Firewire) servodrive networking.
