Pro-face America released its Pro-face Connect, a ready-to-use embedded HMI service that allows customers the ability to access machines remotely and securely from anywhere at anytime.

Most current Pro-face HMIs and iPCs are Pro-face Connect ready allowing users to access to their machines remotely to program, troubleshoot, and maintain the unit’s performance. Pro-face Connect is easy to configure based on familiar HMI panels and software, so there is no need for extra hardware or accessories. By adding the Pro-face Connect Link Manager license, users can even expand their abilities to manage other devices connected to the HMI, including PLCs. Pro-face Connect is ready to go, with a simple online upgrade for activation.

“We care about our customers and their business,” says Paul Aceves, Pro-face America offer manager. “So we are providing a smart technology solution that allows them to increase the efficiency of their operations, while maintaining the utmost security.”

Pro-face follows a Secure Development Lifecycle (SDL) process, which includes penetration tests, threat model analysis and strict requirements from the cyber security committee of Schneider Electric, Pro-face’s parent company. This process allows Pro-face Connect to be compliant with Industry level standards for security, making it the ideal solution for managing multiple machines at multiple locations.

Paul Derbyshire, Pro-face Application engineer, reports from the field that, “Customers can easily collect data while troubleshooting different locations, using a standard Internet connection, and without involving the IT department.”

Smart technology, such as Pro-face Connect, compliments the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) by providing flexibility and control. This gives users the ability to expand their business and meet the ever-changing demands of the automation industry.

Pro-face hardware and software is installed in more than 300,000 factory-floor systems worldwide. Pro-face America is headquartered in Ann Arbor, Michigan and has employees, sales, and support representatives located worldwide.
