ALPS Inspection is a manufacturer of non-destructive, in-line leak inspection equipment for empty plastic containers of all sizes, shapes, and materials. ALPS Inspection announces its supporter-level sponsorship contribution to the Michigan State University Packaging Alumni Association (MSU PAA). The contribution reinforces ALPS Inspection’s commitment to supporting packaging education and aligns with the company’s broader strategy of investing alongside customers who are making meaningful contributions to the future of the industry.

The MSU School of Packaging is recognized as the oldest and largest packaging program in the United States and has long served as a training ground for industry talent. The PAA supports the school by funding scholarships, facilitating career development opportunities, and creating valuable networking events that connect students with professionals in the field.

“Our support of the MSU PAA reflects both a personal and professional commitment to advancing the future of packaging,” said Dan Caverly, Business Development Manager at ALPS Inspection and a graduate of Michigan State’s School of Packaging. “This is where I gained my foundation, and it’s exciting to see the investments our team and our customers are making in the program to ensure it continues to thrive. At ALPS, we’re proud to help foster curiosity about the science and innovation behind packaging.”

In 2023, the MSU PAA contributed $150,000 to the School of Packaging’s building renovations, sponsored $49,000 in scholarships, and supported a range of career-building programs and events. These efforts strengthen the educational experience and help students explore every dimension of the packaging industry, from materials science to advanced inspection systems like those engineered by ALPS.

“Leak detection may not be the first thing a student thinks about when exploring a career in packaging, but that’s exactly why we want to be part of this conversation,” Caverly added. “There’s so much innovation and opportunity in our space, and we want to help students understand the critical role quality control plays in packaging success.”

The MSU PAA sponsorship builds on ALPS Inspection’s ongoing support of industry education, including its recent scholarship contributions to other plastics organizations and schools. By participating in these efforts, ALPS Inspection is not only investing in future professionals but also strengthening relationships with customers and partners who share a common goal: advancing the packaging industry through collaboration, innovation, and education.
