WestRock & Smurfit Kappa Complete Merger as Smurfit WestRock

Following up on a September 2023 Packaging World article that announced the pending merger, consolidation between Smurfit Kappa and WestRock is complete as of July 8. The combined company, Smurfit Westrock, will have a primary listing on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and a secondary listing on the London Stock Exchange (LSE). Smurfit Westrock operates in 40 countries with over 100,000 employees working across 500-plus packaging operations and 63 paper mills.
 
Smurfit Westrock is headquartered in Dublin, Ireland, where Smurfit Kappa was based, and the North and South American headquarters is in Atlanta, where Westrock was based.
