Showcasing innovative machine design capabilities on multiple levels, SOMIC Packaging, Inc. will feature a new machine and two innovative digital solutions making their North American debuts in booth N-4740 at PACK EXPO International 2026. The event is being held October 18-21 at McCormick Place in Chicago.

With its North American hub based in Minnesota, the industry-leading end-of-line packaging manufacturer will demonstrate its popular SOMIC 434 machine and the new SOMIC 202, as well as SOMIC Eagle and SOMIC Connect. Like the 202, the pair of SOMIC Digital Services devices were introduced to a worldwide audience six months ago at Interpack.

The SOMIC 434 platform has impressed customers since it was introduced at PACK EXPO in Chicago two years ago. It has been setting new standards, achieving up to 32 cycles per minute while producing nearly an unlimited number of available formats. Since the 434 can be built as a case packer, tray or wraparound, or as a multi-function machine capable of producing all three types of cartons, the automatic format adjustments available in many areas have resulted in customers experiencing more production uptime and efficiency.

The SOMIC 202 is designed specifically as a space-saving machine for standard packaging tasks, as well as for brand owners and manufacturers looking to enter the automated, shelf-ready packaging arena. This standard platform model is designed to handle Regular Slotted Cartons (RSC) or flat blanks up to 20 packs per minute. Like the 434, it will be demonstrated in the booth.

Both SOMIC Eagle and SOMIC Connect will also be demonstrated. Providing service teams a way to combine recent machine-sequence video with diagnostic data, it gives customers and technicians an avenue to improve troubleshooting, determine what triggered a machine fault, and decreases downtime.

SOMIC Eagle’s multi-camera issue tracking system does the initial work. The video clips are time-stamped, and after other relevant information is reviewed, more precise determinations can be made. SOMIC Connect shares this data, including PLC and HMI logs and error information, through a secure email server. Make sure to request a personal demonstration from a SOMIC technician in booth N-4740.
